HOW LONG ARE THE CLASSES?
Most classes are 75 minutes long, with the exception of the Hour of Power classes at 6am. In addition, our 4pm Sunday class is 90 minutes.
DO I NEED A MEMBERSHIP?
No. You can pay per session at the drop-in rate, purchase a 10 class or one month pass or sign up for our auto deduct monthly membership.
WHAT DO I NEED TO BRING?
Please bring an empty stomach, yoga mat, large towel and water. We rent mats and towels and sell water in the studio. We also sell mats in the studio.
HOW DO I PAY?
YogaSport accepts personal checks, cash, Visa & Mastercard. Due to credit card fees, we prefer cash or check.
WHAT DO I WEAR?
Wear comfortable, light clothing that allows the body to move. Baggy shirts and shorts are not recommended. Keep in mind that the room is heated and you will sweat!! Tank tops and shorts or yoga pants are best.
WHERE DO I PARK?
We have a free, covered 2-level parking garage underneath our building. When you are at the light at Lemmon and Douglas, take Douglas North (towards the building) and turn right into the garage entrance. If the first floor is full (this is rare), remember to look for the level 2 sign. There is always enough parking and we won't make you cross Lemmon Ave in your yoga clothes!!
CAN I ATTEND CLASS IF I AM A BEGINNER?
Absolutely! Our classes have students of all levels and our teachers always show modifications for more difficult poses. However, if you feel that the Power Vinyasa classes flow a little fast for you as a beginner, we highly recommend our Power Yoga Beginner Series or one of our frequent Beginner Workshops.
WILL CLASS BE CHALLENGING FOR ME?
Yes. Regardless of your yoga experience and athletic ability, YogaSport classes will challenge every individual. In the words of Power Yoga teacher Jene Rossi, "(Power Vinyasa Yoga) will leave you completely energized and feeling like you’ve just been massaged and had your butt kicked all at the same time."
HOW OFTEN SHOULD I PRACTICE?
For good results, we encourage a minimum practice of 3 times/week. For life-changing results, 4-6 times/week.
IS THIS HOT YOGA?
Our room is heated to 90 degrees. The heat warms muscles and helps them to stretch more and work optimally within a greater range of motion. Over time, this will help build strength and flexibility. Give yourself at least a few classes to get used to being in a warm room but be aware, once you are used to it, you will not want to do yoga in a cold room again!! Please make sure to drink lots of water before class and bring a full length towel.
HOW CAN I STOP SLIPPING ON MY MAT?!
Many people slip on their yoga mats because they sweat during practice. Don't worry, this is a common occurance in a warm vinyasa studio and we have solutions. We recommend trying a YogiToes non-slip towel or a Mysore Practice Rug. Both products provide a comfortable, non-slip surface that is perfect for power yoga practice. YogiToes are available for sale both in our studio and through our online shop.
