This post is from Shannah Frank, our awesome Tuesday night assistant. Shannah has been going through an incredibly tough year and lost her best friend. Let’s show how strong our YS community is and support her and the cause. Help us help her Kick Cancer’s A**!!
Hi All! Most people say you never forget your first love. I am determined to make sure that does not happen. To honor the memory of my first love and best friend, Justin Sullivan, I have decided to do something crazy! One of Justin’s goals was to do a triathlon and had joined The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLC) as a participant in their Team in Training program in early 2009, but became to ill to participate. So, I have decided to keep the dream alive! I am participating in The Capital of Texas Triathlon on May 31, 2010.
Justin battled Hodgkin’s Lymphoma for 5 1/2 years and lost his battle December 12, 2009. Justin was an incredible writer and kept a blog about his fight with cancer. He was brutally honest, funny, mad, sad and extremely inspiring. I invite you to take a read: http://superfluke.typepad.com/washingtondc/ and http://superfluke.typepad.com.
As Justin’s caregiver, I saw firsthand how donations made to LLS help patients and their families. I encourage you to read Justin’s blogs and you’ll immediately learn the struggles that these heroes deal with everyday and see how your donations make a difference in their lives.
Please use the link in this email to donate online quickly and securely plus learn more about my progress. You will receive a confirmation of your donation by email and I will be notified as soon as you make your donation.

Each donation helps accelerate finding a cure for leukemia, lymphoma and myeloma. More than 823,000 Americans are battling these blood cancers. I am hoping that my participation in Team In Training will help bring them hope and support.
My motto this year is “do something that scares you.” This triathlon scares me! I learned many things from Justin, but the most important is that life is too short and it’s not worth sitting something out because it scares you.
On behalf of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, thank you very much for your support. I greatly appreciate your generosity.
Thank you,
Shoshannah Frank
